Not everyone is a fan of Windows 11 24H2; many still consider version 23H2 to be the “sweet spot,” primarily due to its superior hardware and software compatibility. To provide a diverse selection for our users, we have developed the Windows 11 Pro 23H2 Lite edition.

Storage and Configuration: While the ISO size is remarkably tiny compared to the original Microsoft image, the system’s initial disk footprint is slightly larger than our usual Lite builds. This is because Hibernation is enabled by default in this release, as many users find this feature essential. If you prefer to save disk space, you can easily disable it by running the command powercfg -h off . Additionally, we have opted to keep the standard power plans and the default keyboard layout toggle to maintain a familiar user experience.

Optimizations and Updates: We have aggressively removed “system bloatware” (refer to the Windows Component List for details). One unique advantage of this build is that Windows Updates are automatically paused for one week after every system startup. However, the update engine is not broken—automatic driver installation via Windows Update remains functional, and the Microsoft Store can still be installed and used.

Performance Philosophy: During our technical testing, various software and applications ran successfully without issues. The system is exceptionally “quiet,” with unnecessary background services disabled and redundant features purged.

We understand that no single configuration can satisfy every user’s preference, which is why we offer builds with varying degrees of optimization. As Microsoft continues to pack more bloatware into their systems, these “Super Lite” builds become increasingly essential for users who demand a fast, lightweight, and convenient operating environment.

Retained System Components

• Windows Update Service: Remains functional but is configured to stay permanently paused.
• Microsoft Store Support: The Store is not pre-installed but can be added instantly by running the wsreset -i command.
• Legacy Compatibility: DirectPlay and SMB 1.0 are enabled for older games and network hardware. Printing functionality is also fully preserved.
• System Restore: The service is included for safety (to roll back the system if needed) but is disabled by default. Users can enable it manually.
• Drivers: Automatic driver installation via Windows Update is preserved.
• Core Features: Windows Search and Game Mode are included and fully functional.
• Apps: The modern versions of Calculator and Paint are kept, while the Classic Photo Viewer has been restored as the default.

Integrated Software

• Browser Installers: Since Microsoft Edge has been removed, a folder with alternative browser installers is provided.
• WebView2 Installer: Included as a standalone installer, though most apps requiring WebView2 were found to work correctly in this build without additional installation.
• Note: By popular demand, VC++ and DirectX runtimes are NOT pre-integrated in this build.

Major Components Removed

• WinSxS Cleanup: The system component cache has been aggressively reduced to save space.
• Bloatware: OneDrive, non-essential Live Tiles (except Calculator/Paint), and the recovery image (WinRe.wim) are removed.
• Microsoft Edge: Completely purged from the system.
• Privacy & Services: All redundant speech/text services have been removed. The Task Scheduler has been cleaned of telemetry and diagnostic tasks.
• Unnecessary Features: Numerous Windows components deemed unnecessary for a home PC have been uninstalled.
• Security Services: Windows Defender and SmartScreen are removed, ensuring a smooth, high-speed experience without background interference.

Other Features & Notes

• Command Prompt: The CMD shortcut has been removed from the standard “Tools” and Start menu locations. You can launch it by typing cmd.exe in Search or by creating a manual shortcut.
• Custom Aesthetics: New stylish wallpapers are applied automatically to give the build a unique identity.
• .NET Framework: Support for legacy Framework 3.5 was not explicitly tested, but a tweak has been applied to allow the modern Framework to handle requirements for both versions.
• UWP Support: Standard apps from the Microsoft Store install and run successfully (see screenshots).
• Permanent Removal: Components that have been “hard-removed” cannot be restored. We believe the remaining set of components provides the best balance for most users.

Recommendations

• Installation: It is recommended to install the OS without an active internet connection. Once the installation is finished and the PC is rebooted, you can connect to the network.
• Storage Optimization: If you do not use Hibernation, you can immediately free up several gigabytes of space by running the command: powercfg -h off .

Technical Summary

“Super Lite” builds are designed for users who do not require regular monthly cumulative updates. Attempting to force-install major updates on a stripped system like this is not recommended, as it likely will not work and will only clutter the disk. These systems are ideal for saving space on small SSDs while maximizing performance.

Safety Verification: All ISO images are scanned via DISM and antivirus software for malicious files before publication. While default browser installers may be present, they can be customized to your preference.
